Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Menara airport – transfer to the hotel
Our tour officially begins as we will come to pick you up from the airport then drop you off at the traditional Riad where you will be staying. You are free to spend the remaining of this day however you want. You can explore the streets of Marrakech for a little bit or you can simply just relax at the Riad (where you will also be having dinner and spend the night). 8 days from Marrakech
Day 2: Marrakech – Sightseeing tour with local guide
This day will be entirely spent touring the city of Marrakech. You will be accompanied by a local tour guide, which will allow you to discover all of the places worth visiting. The tour includes, but is not limited to: the Koutoubia Minaret, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Dar Si Said Museum and the Majorelle Gardens. You will also spend some time exploring the world famous Jamaa El Fna square, with all of its different sorts of entertainers. Be prepared to find snake charmers, musicians, storytellers and an abundance of stalls for foods and drinks. Finally, you will be provided with overnight accommodation in the same Riad as the night before.
Day 3: Marrakech – Tiz´n´Tichka – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Kelaa M´Gouna
Our journey today will begin as we’ll come to pick you up from your accommodation, then we will start driving towards our destination of the day: Kalaat Mgouna. In order to get there we will have to drive through the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the sights of small Berber villages such as Taddert village. After crossing the Tizin Tichka mountain pass, we will arrive at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Ait Ben Haddou is a recognized UNESCO world heritage site, and many big movie directors have chosen it over the years as a filming location for international movies such as The Mummy, Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator… etc. After we have lunch in the Kasbah, we will head to the nearby Ouarzazate, also called the Hollywood of Morocco. After spending some time in the city, we will continue driving through the Valley of Roses where we will pay a visit to the Ameridil Kasbah. Finally, we will arrive at Kalaat Mgouna where we will be having dinner and spending the night in a local Riad.
Day 4: Kelaa M´Gouna – Boumalne Dades – Dades-Gorge – Tinghir – Todra-Gorge – Tinjedad – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga – night in the hotel
We will start the day by leaving Kalaat Mgouna then driving towards the Dades valley. We will spend some time exploring this beautiful location, then drive by Tinghir towards the Todra gorges. This location is known for its 300 meters high gorges that attract climbers from all over the world. After walking around the gorges and enjoying sights of the nearby Berber villages, we will head straight to Merzouga, driving by many villages such as such as Jorf, Touroug, and Tinejdad. We will reach Erfoud, then Rissani, and after that we will finally reach the gateway of the Sahara desert: Merzouga. We will have dinner and spend the night at a local hotel.
Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – desert nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga – night in the bivouac
Today is a special day because it will be full of desert adventures. The first one of those will be a stop by the village of Khamlia, where you can watch some live spiritual Gnaoua music playing. After that we will try and find a nomad family, so that you can chat with them and learn more about their way of life. Then it’s time for a lunch break in the nearby Rissani town, after which we will go back to our hotel in order to get a chance to rest and shower for a little bit. Towards the late afternoon, we will start our camel trekking ride, in which you will get to ride on the back of a camel through the desert dunes. The camels will take us to the desert camp where we will spend an unforgettable night sleeping in Nomad tents, under the clear starry night sky.
Day 6: Merzouga, Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkoub, Ouarzazate, Draa-Valley, Zagora, night in the hotel
After waking up in time to admire the breathtaking desert sunrise, we will ride our camels back to the hotel to get a delicious breakfast and get the chance to shower. After that we will continue our desert exploration by going to Rissani once again, where we will visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. We will stop at Nkoub village for lunch, before continuing our drive through the valley of Draa. Finally, we will arrive at Zagora where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 7: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tiz´n´Tichka – Marrakech
We will have breakfast, then start driving through the Daraa valley once again, passing by the village of Agdez. We will be driving by the Draa River (longest in Morocco), and you will get to enjoy the refreshing green landscapes of the area, most notably the impressive palm groves. Then we will reach Ouarzazate city, where we will explore the historical Kasbah of Taourirt. This Kasbah, like all of the other Moroccan Kasbahs, is a fortified castle made of mud and earth substances. We will have lunch at Ouarzazate, after which we will drive back to Marrakech. Overnight accommodation and dinner will be provided at a traditional Riad.
Day 8: Marrakech – Transfer to the airport
For the last day of our trip, you might want to do some last minute shopping for souvenirs, or simply walk around the streets of Marrakech. Your transfer to the airport will be arranged according to your flight schedule, and this marks the end of our services.
