After we have breakfast we will start our tour of the Ismaili capital. The city was given this name for being the old capital of the king Moulay Ismail during the 17th century. In Meknes, you will visit the most important attractions such as Saht Lhdim, which is a mini version of Jama Lfna. There’s also the gate of Bab Mnsour, Sahrij Souani basin, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Our next destination for this day would be the town Volubilis. Volubilis is a site of ruins belonging to the Ancient Roman Empire, dating as far back as the 3rd century BC. This location contains some very well preserved archeological material, most notably the mosaic masterpieces. Finally, we will continue driving towards Fez, which we will reach just in time to get dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Enjoy Fes

We will begin our guided tour of the city by walking around the streets and alleyways of the Old Medina, then we will visit the impressive gates of the royal palace, and what is considered to be the first Mellah to be built in Morocco. After that, we will go walk around the Attarin Souk, where you will find all sorts of artisanal products on display. After we are done with that, we will leave the Souk through the Bab Boujeloud gate which is in itself a stunning masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship. Following this, we will pay a visit to the Dar Albatha museum, known for its unique display of traditional Moroccan arts. We may have a typical Moroccan lunch at a restaurant in the Medina if you would like, after which we will spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the new parts of the city. As for the overnight accommodations, they will be the same as the night before.

Day 4: Fes-Middle Atlas-Ifran-Azro-Ziz valley-Erfoud

Today we will start heading south on our journey to the Sahara desert, but first, we will go through the Middle Atlas region where we will meet the town of Ifrane, the Azrou cedar forests (populated by wild Macaque monkeys) and then the town of Midelt.
