Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca-Marrakesh
Once you arrive to Casablanca, a representative of ours will come welcome you at the airport. Then the first thing you will do is visit the Hassan II mosque, which is a masterpiece of Moroccan Muslim architecture, known for being the largest mosque in Africa, and 10th largest in the world. We will then start driving to Marrakech city. You will enjoy the rest of your day here exploring the world famous Jamaa El Fna square, with all of its different sorts of entertainers. Be prepared to find snake charmers, musicians, storytellers and an abundance of stalls for foods and drinks. You will be provided with overnight accommodation in a Riad in the old Medina.
Day 2 : Explore Marrakesh
This day will be entirely spent touring the city of Marrakech. You will be accompanied by a local tour guide, which will allow you to discover all of the places worth visiting. The tour includes, but is not limited to: the Koutoubia Minaret, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Dar Si Said Museum and the Majorelle Gardens. Finally, you will spend the night in the same Riad as the night before.
Day 3 : from Marrakesh to Essaouira
For this next day, we will have breakfast then head towards the Atlantic coast which we will be discovering for the next 6 days of our trip. The first location along the way being Essaouira, we will stop at this magical city to enjoy its golden beaches and coastline, as well as all the local seafood cuisine it offers. Essaouira has a very unique and interesting vibe to it because of all the Portuguese, French and Berber influences that are present in its architecture. You will definitely get to enjoy that as well, while wandering around the city or relaxing at a local café. You will spend the night at a traditional Riad in the old Medina.
Day 4: Essaouira-Agadir-Lgzira beach
We will continue our tour of the Moroccan Atlantic coast today by driving to Lagzira. Lagzira is a collection of marvelous beaches which you will get the chance to visit today, such as Sidi Kaouki and Taghazout. So our first stop along the way will be at Taghazout village, where you can enjoy the fresh Atlantic breeze, have lunch, and even do some wind surfing if you wish to. After that, we will continue our journey, passing by the town of Tiznit that’s very famous for its genuine Berber jewelry. Finally, we will reach our destination, Lagzira, where you will discover one of the most beautiful beaches in Morocco. This is also where we will be spending the night.
Day 5: SidiIfni-Guelmime-Tantan-Louatya
This day we will have a memorable breakfast at the beach, after which we will resume our trip through the Atlantic coast to the town of Sidi Ifni. Our next destination after that would normally be the city of Guelmim, but we will not go there before taking you first to another one of the most breathtaking beaches in Morocco. The White Beach, or Playa Blanca as called by Spanish explorers, is a stunning location that hosts all sorts of landscapes from desert and oases to ocean and mountains. After we’re done exploring this beach, we will continue driving to Guelmim, which we will reach just in time to witness the famous Camels market. Also, in case you’ve heard about the “Goulimine beads” or “Love beads” that were very popular among hippies in the 60’s, well this is the city that their name refers to. Finally, we will end our day by arriving at Tantan city, which is home to the longest river in Morocco, the Draa River. We will be spending the night at El Ouatya beach.
Day 6 : Louatya-Khenifiss national park
Today will be dedicated to a very special Moroccan site: the Khenifiss National Park. The park covers a surface of about 1850 square kilometers, and is home to a diverse range of seasonal and permanent birds including: Marbled Ducks, Ruddy Shelducks, Audouin’s Gull and even Pink Flamingos during the winter seasons alongside many other species. These birds are mainly attracted by the warm weather and the impressive lagoon at the park, considered to be the biggest lagoon of the Moroccan coast. We will set camp here for the day, then go on an hour long boat ride that will take us to a sea of beautiful sand dunes to explore. You will get to spend the rest of the day surrounded by nature in the most relaxing environment.
Day 7: Khenifiss-Tafraout
Today will be the last day of our Atlantic coast journey, as we will leave it to head North East towards the Atlas Mountains region (keep in mind that there are three main regions, the High Atlas, Middle Atlas and the Anti Atlas). Our first destination of the day is the town of Tafraout, which we will reach after passing by the city of Guelmim again, the Anti Atlas then the Amlen Valley. This valley is famous for being the host of an annual national Almonds festival, in addition to its Argan trees cultivation and leather slippers production. Finally, in the heart of this valley lies the beautiful Tafraout town where we will be spending the night.
Day 8: Tafraout-Ait Baha-Argan national park-Taroudant
Today we will leave the beautiful Tafraout in order to head to Taroudant. On the way day, you will be able to get a glimpse of real Berber culture as you’ll see small children bathing in the lake while their mothers are cleaning carpets and washing clothes. As we are driving by Ait Baha, you will witness a truly unique scene at the Argan Natioanl Park, which is that of goats climbing up Argan trees to eat the nuts they produce. Finally, we will arrive at Taroudant where we will spend the night.
Day 9: Taroudant-Ait ben Haddou-Ouarzazat-Rose valley-Dades Valley
After having breakfast, we will visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is a recognized UNESCO world heritage, and many big movie directors have chosen it over the years as a filming location for international movies such as The Mummy, Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator… etc. After this, we will head to the nearby city of Ouarzazate, also called the Hollywood of Morocco. After spending some time in the city, we will continue driving through the valley of Roses, then arrive at the Dades Valley where we will be spending the night.
Day 10: Dades Valley-Todra Gorge-Erfoud-Merzoga
Today is a very special day, because in addition to being the second encounter you will have with desert dunes, this will be the first time you will camel trek through the Sahara desert! We will start the day by leaving the beautiful Dades Valley behind, then driving by Tinghir and the Todgha gorges to finally reach the town of Merzouga. This is where we will switch from our vehicles to riding the back of camels into the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will spend an unforgettable evening in a Berber camp in the middle of the Sahara surrounded by nothing but endless dunes. After a delicious traditional dinner, you will spend the night in a Nomad style simplistic tent.
Day 11: Merzouga-Rissani-Ziz Valley-Midalt
After waking up in time to admire the breathtaking desert sunrise, we will head back to our hotel in Merzouga to get a delicious breakfast. Then we will drive to the nearby Rissani village, known for holding the biggest market place of the region. Also, this area is a hotspot for old fortified Kasbahs, so you will get to see many of those along the way. For lunch, we will visit a local Berber family known for their hospitality, then we will finally start driving towards the Middle Atlas Mountains region. After passing by the heavenly Ziz valley with its pam groves, we will finally reach a town called Midelt where we will spend the night.
Day 12: Midlt- The Forest-Ifran-Voulibulis-Meknes
Now that are in the Middle Atlas region, we will make sure that you take to time to fully enjoy the beauty of this place. We will start by spending some time at the cedar forest of Azrou where you can watch and even feed some Macaque monkeys in their natural environment. Then we will pay a small visit to the beautiful town of Ifrane, nicknamed the Switzerland of Morocco for its unique weather and architecture. Our last destination of the day would be the imperial city of Meknes, but before that, we will explore the town of Volubilis. Volubilis is a site of ancient Roman ruins that go back to the 3rd century BC. After spending enough time to discover all the archeological treasures of this place, we will finally move on to Meknes. Our tour of Meknes will include all of the main historical monuments of the city, including Lhdim Square, the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, Sahrij Souani Bassin and more. You will be provided with overnight accommodation in a Riad in the Old Medina.
Day 13: Journey Fes-Exploring Fes
We will leave Meknes headed in the direction of the city of Fez which we will reach after about 50 minutes. Once we get there, we will begin our tour of the city by walking around the streets and alleyways of the Old Medina, then we will visit the impressive gates of the royal palace, and what is considered to be the first Mellah to be built in Morocco. After that, we will go walk around the Attarin Souk, where you will find all sorts of artisanal products on display. After we are done with that, we will leave the Souk through the Bab Boujeloud gate which is in itself a stunning masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship. Following this, we will pay a visit to the Dar Albatha museum, known for its unique display of traditional Moroccan arts. We may have a typical Moroccan lunch at a restaurant in the Medina if you would like, after which we will spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the new parts of the city. As for the overnight accommodations, they will be in Fez.
Day 14 : Fez-Ouazen-Chefchaouen
We will have breakfast then start our journey towards the town of Chefchaouen. We will drive by Ouazen, then after a while you will start noticing mountains starting to appear. Those are the Riff Mountains, and at their foothill lies the beautiful Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen. The town has gained this name for the bright and vibrant blue color that its walls and buildings are painted with. You’ll get to walk around the city, discovering its uniqueness and beauty. You also wouldn’t want to miss trying out the bio goat cheese that the city is famous for. Finally, we will spend the night in Chefchaouen.
Day 15: journey Trekking in the Rif mountains
This day will be entirely spent exploring the magnificent Riff Mountains. We will have breakfast then ride a 4×4 vehicle to take up to one of the region’s mountains (1600 meters altitude) then start our hike. You will get to enjoy having lunch in the middle of the relaxing nature around you, including some interesting cannabis plantations. Finally, we will spend the night in a guest house located in one of the small mountain villages.
Day 16: Journey to Rabat
After we have breakfast, we will drive to Rabat, the capital of the kingdom. We will tour the city and visit its main attractions such as the Mohammed V mausoleum, the Kasbah of Oudaya and the famous Hassan Tower Minaret. Then we will spend the night at the Old Medina. 17 DAY MOROCCO TOUR
