Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 : FES – IFRANE – AZROU – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA :

For the first step of our 5 days tour, we will start heading south on our journey to the Sahara desert. But first, we will go through the Middle Atlas region where we will meet the town of Ifrane (known for its unique weather and Ski resorts), the Azrou cedar forests (populated by wild Macaque monkeys) and then the town of Midelt. This is where the landscape will start turning into a more Saharian atmosphere, as we will reach the town of Errachidia where we will have lunch. Then we will continue driving through the massive palm groves of Ziz Valley, where you might want to stop to take photographs of the landscape. Then after Erfoud, we will finally reach the town of Merzouga, the gateway of the Desert where we will spend the night in a hotel.

DAY 2 : MERZOUGA DESERT CAMEL TREK AND OVERNIGHT IN MERZOUGA CAMP

Today is a special day because it will be full of desert adventures. The first one of those will be a drive through the desert dunes in 4×4 vehicles, through which you will get to explore the volcanic fossil rocks. After that we will try and find a nomad family, so that you can chat with them and learn more about their way of life. Next up we will stop by the village of Khamlia, where you can watch some live spiritual Gnaoua music playing. Finally, we will visit Rissani towns where we can walk around the biggest traditional souk of the area. Then towards the late afternoon, we will start our camel trekking ride, in which you will get to ride on the back of a camel through the desert dunes. The camels will take us to the desert camp where we will spend an unforgettable night sleeping in Nomad tents, under the clear starry night sky.

DAY 3 : MERZOUGA DESERT – RISSANI – TODRA GORGES – DADES GORGES

After waking up in time to admire the beauty of the breathtaking desert sunrise, we will ride our camels back to the hotel at Merzouga to get a delicious breakfast and get the chance to shower. After that we will head to the Todra gorges where we will have lunch, after passing by Tinghir and Rissani.  We will then continue driving towards the beautiful Dades location where you will have dinner and spend the night (breakfast will also be provided).

DAY 4 : DADES GORGES – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE:

Today our journey through the south continues as we visit the city Kalaat Mgouna, famous for being the Moroccan capital of Rose production. For lunch we will head to Skoura, where we can also visit the historical Kasbah Amerdil. Finally, we will reach our destination of the day, which is Ouarzazate city. There’s a lot to see in Ouarzazate, such as the local Kasbah or the famous filming studio that the city is known for.

DAY 5 : OUARZAZATTE – AIT BENHADDOU – MARRAKECH

For the last day of our tour, we will explore Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Ait Ben Haddou is a recognized UNESCO world heritage site, famous for being the setting location for many big international movies and series (Game of Thrones for instance). After that we will enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains while driving through the famous Tizin Tichka mountain pass. Finally, we will arrive at Marrakech in the early evening.
